The story behind
Voordat Curlygirlmovement een feit was, vond de movement plaats in mijzelf. Mijn naam is Shamilla Dewi, Founder & Creator van Curlygirlmovement.
Als jong meisje kende ik niets anders dan struggles met mijn krullen. Ik wist gewoonweg niet hoe ik ermee om moest gaan. Het paste niet bij het schoonheidsideaal dat ik voor ogen had, ik schaamde me er zelfs voor. En elke keer als ik voor de spiegel stond, keek ik gefrustreerd en verdrietig naar één groot mysterie. Ik probeerde van alles, maar er was geen enkel product dat wél het doorslaggevende antwoord gaf. In mijn ogen was er geen andere optie dan mijn haar dagelijks glad föhnen. Na jaren overmatig gebruik van hitte was er niet veel meer over van mijn haar. Er zat maar één ding op: the Big Chop.
Een belangrijk persoonlijk keerpunt omdat het tijd was om mijn haar echt te begrijpen en erin te verdiepen. In 2014 werd het platform Curlygirlmovement geboren. Alle opgedane kennis, tips en trucs deelde ik met mede Curlygirls. Het doel was om mensen te inspireren en om ze te leren omgaan met die krullen en ze te omarmen.
Twee jaar later, in 2016, begon ik met het ontwikkelen van de Curl Styling Milk & Curl Defining Gel. Deze producten zijn sinds 2018 verkrijgbaar en hebben ondertussen heel veel Curly Girls erg gelukkig gemaakt! De pakketjes werden vanuit huis verstuurd naar de klanten totdat dit niet meer op eigen kracht te doen was.
Vandaag de dag is Curlygirlmovement een mega-platform waar we enorm trots op zijn. Met onze vele trouwe volgers en klanten wereldwijd is ons assortiment uitgebreid met nog meer fantastische producten die speciaal ontwikkeld zijn voor jouw krullenbos. We ontvangen onze klanten tegenwoordig zelfs in onze eerste Curly Hair Spa & Store, gevestigd in Amsterdam. Join the movement and find out yourself!
